That first day of school is something everyone has been through.
Either you were excited and looking forward to the day, or you were scared and fearing it.
Either way, we’ve all been there. If you want to do well in college, you’ll need to step up your game.
Who is it for? That is, to your teachers, your peers, and most of all, to yourself.
A good start to the school year can set the tone for the rest of the year. A big part of making a good impact is being ready.
Do not forget to bring extra paper, pens, and pencils so that you are never short. You could even make a friend by sharing what you need with someone who forgot.
Check out a campus plan or just stop by for a quick look to find your classes and the buildings you will be in.
Making sure you know what classes you will be taking and who your teachers are is important.
Check the weather the night before your first day of school. Prepare for bad weather by putting on an umbrella in case it rains or a blanket in case it blows.
Make sure you set an alarm to make sure you get there on time, and try to get there early! Check your transportation one more time.
Does the bus service run? Is there petrol in the car you’ll be driving tomorrow? Are the tires inflated? Get your clothes ready for the next day and dress like a boss.
Like getting ready for a meeting the boss. The point is to charm people at first glance.
Bring a good mood and an open mind to class the day of.
Get there ready to meet new people and learn new things. Spread happiness as you go, and really be happy for your friends.
Do your best to pay attention in class and have your notes ready.
As soon as you walk into class, say “Hello” to your teachers and “Thank you” at the end of the class.
